I picked Holly River on a whim and glad I did. Fantastic place. I stayed at the campground along a beautiful stream. Nice, well spaced camp spots, clean shower house/restrooms. Took a great hike on the Reverie trail, well marked which was appreciated as leaves covered most of the trail. A+ restaurant to top off the afternoon. Great menu and service. Extremely friendly staff and local folks in general.

Such a nice relaxing day! The pool was great! Nice park to take the family for a day trip or a weekend in the woods!

Lovely, old park that will nourish your soul. So much rain this summer that it is green, green, green! Plenty of places for quiet camping or picnics and some trails for hiking.

Beautiful area to camp. Chose a site by the river, hike to the smaller falls close to the campground.

We loved this park! The trails are great and varied so everyone can find a trail that suits their ability. Playground for kids, basketball court, in season swimming pool, beautiful river running the full length of the campground and cabin area. The whole place is very shady. The staff are super friendly and can answer any questions you have. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!

Awesome cabin # 10. Clean, comfortable, modern and toasty warm. Great fireplace. Only took a small hike but did love the natural environment. We spent most.of our time in Helvetia for Faschnaut.

We have been camping at Holly River for over 30 years. It is always a good time. The facilities are always clean. The bath house in the 3rd section has showers that are so powerful they will peel the dirt off and give you a back massage at the same time. The people are very friendly. The only complaint I would have is that the state has cut funding and they do not have as much staff as they used to.

IÒ€ℒm making it a goal to go out to all of the State Parks and Forests and hike the trails, and Holly River SP is one of my favorites so far. They have the BEST trail map IÒ€ℒve seen so far provided, with elevations and conditions as well as a large fold-out to show all of the trails in color to show the blazes. I did Reverie Trail which was great and the Laurel Trail which is quite cute and has wheelchair accessibility and brail translations of the educational signs. Additionally, the park staff were all great! The woman running the gift shop on Saturday morning was very kind and answered all of my questions about the trails. I didnÒ€ℒt catch her name but I donÒ€ℒt take for granted that all SP staff around the state are as knowledgeable about the different trails.

Beautiful and well kept camping, Rangers were very helpful. We were camping with are horses. If you want more people to come and camp with horses you need more tie lines and more corrals spread threw out the camp sights and you also need to make a few more trails to ride on. The one trail you had that we rode on was 5 hours long and it was beautiful and well worth the ride but we camped the whole weekend and didn't want to ride the same trail twice. Please consider adding more trails and more corrals and tie lines and it would be well worth making the 4 hour drive again.

Wow. We canÒ€ℒt wait to come back here to camp. I still canÒ€ℒt believe the quality of state parks West Virginia has and many people including us did not know exist. We are planning on staying at them all.
